July 8, 2013, Manila, Philippines – The Philippines has become one of the fastest rising country to hold eSports tournaments, happening almost every day nationwide on a small cyber café with as low as 10 computers, big café’s with hundreds of teams competing, or organized sponsored events nationwide.
The opening of Asiasoft Online Pte. Ltd. Philippine branch, led to the commencement of several eSports tournaments metro wide, through partners like Pacific Live and Wired and TheNet.Com. Players from across the city have joined to compete the monthly qualifiers for Chaos Online - the newest MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) in the Philippines, Sudden Attack – the #1 FPS (First Person Shooter) game in Korea and AVA Online – a fast action hi-def graphics game powered by Unreal Engine 3. Monthly grand winners will once again gather and compete in November 2013, to identify the teams who will represent the Philippines in the Southeast Asia Regional Finals against Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Asiasoft’s qualifiers started last June 15 & 16 at Pacific Lived and Wired naming two (2) teams and TheNet.Com last June 22, 30 and July 7, 2013 with three (3) winners lined up ready to compete for the Philippine Finals in November.
It’s not too late for those aspiring gamers from all walks of life to join and grab a slot in the Asiasoft’s Qualifiers, for it will run till October. Scheduled tournaments are already plotted at PPC and TNC, and everyone is welcome to register on their preferred date. (Please note that schedule may change depending on partner café):
